Wilha Ruth Pernu Wilha Ruth Pernu, widow of Floyd "Gene" Eugene Pernu, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 5th, 2012. Wilha was a long time resident of Porterville, but recently resided with her daughter Kristi and son-in-law Greg Weaver in Visalia. In her 87 years, she lived a very fulfilled life. She raised her three children and worked as a bookkeeper part-time. Before moving to Visalia, she was an active member at the First Baptist Church, Porterville, where she received the "Longest Consecutive Member" award and served as a Sunday school teacher for over fifty years. She recently developed a passion for traveling after several trips with her daughters. Wilha is survived by two daughters, Karen Pernu of Escondido and Kristi Weaver of Visalia, one son Daryl Pernu, and four grandchildren, Brittni Weaver, Corey Weave, Lucas Pernu, and Sara Pernu. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the
in memory of other family members who lost the battle to cancer. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 9th at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1013 E. Olive Ave in Porterville.
