Ben Serafin Ben Serafin, a lifelong Woodville dairyman and farmer, passed away at the age of 90 years on Dec. 29, 2012 in Tulare, CA. Born in Tulare, CA on November 21, 1922 to the late Pete and Florintina Della Serafin, he attended school in Woodville and was a 1941 graduate of Tulare High School. Following high school, he joined the Army Air Corp and was stationed at Castle Air Force Base. He then returned to Woodville and joined his father on the dairy. Ben was a member of the Sons of Italy Roma Lodge in Tulare, the Dairymen's Cooperative Creamery, a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Tipton, and a past member of the Woodville School Board. He was also a member of the Tulare County of Education School Board, the Tulare Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the State of California Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the State of California Canning Peach Association, and the Lower Tulare Irrigation District Board. He is survived by his sons Nick Serafin of Woodville, CA and David and wife Stephanie Serafin of Terra Bella, CA, daughters Janet Bennett and husband Gene of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Kim and husband Gary Benevedo of Grover Beach, CA as well as 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, daughter Ruby Ellen, son Bobby, brother Daniel, and sister Katie. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 4PM until 7PM at Miller Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. A Rosary and Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 10AM at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Tulare, CA. Burial will be in Tulare District Cemetery in Tulare.
