Sally Kimbell Utsler Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Sally Kimbell Utsler, age 76, passed away on March 13, 2014. Sally was born in Santa Monica, California on October 12, 1937. While growing up in a Santa Monica bungalow attending parochial school, she experienced World War II through the California Coast "black Outs" and enemy submarine sightings near her home. After numerous trips to Exeter to visit close friends, Sally's mother, Caroline and her uncle, Jim decided they should all move there in 1949. Sally was very active in student government, clubs and Rainbow Girls. She graduated from Exeter High School in 1955 and married Dewey Utsler in 1956. Dewey and Sally raised their young family in Exeter. Sally worked for the County of Tulare as a keypunch operator, and subsequently at Kaweah Distributors for many years. She was a dedicated employee and a very hard worker. In 1985, she moved to Mountain View, California and began working for TAB Products as an accounts receivable clerk where she quickly moved up the ranks to manager. Sally retired in 2004 and moved back to Visalia. Sally was our devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was known for her willingness to help others in many ways. She loved to bake pies and her special peanut butter cup cookies for all of us. Mom, we all love you and miss you very much. You will forever be in our thoughts and hearts. Sally is survived by her children Larry Utsler and wife Janelle, Alan Utsler, Elizabeth Utsler, Mike Utsler and wife Merritt, and Melanie Bonner-Galvin all of Visalia. Grandchildren Lori Utsler, Loren Utsler and wife Jessica, Luke Utsler, Hillari Utsler, Michael, Bryson and Devynn Utsler, and Lillian Marie Galvin, and great grandchildren Lance and Logan Utsler, and ex-husband Dewey Utsler. Sally has one living cousin, Betty Carol Kimbell of Baker, Oregon. She is preceded in death by son Mark Edward Utsler, her mother Caroline Elizabeth "Dot" Kimbell, her father, William i. Hammond, uncle James Maxwell "Jim" Kimbell, and ex-husband Gary Bonner. We would like to extend our special thanks to Mom's close friends Mary Abeyta and Esther Fluke for visiting her faithfully during these last months. Also, we would like to thank Dr. Marconi and the Palliative Care Team for their compassion and understanding throughout this difficult time, and all of the nursing staff at Kaweah Delta ICU, Critical Care, 3 North and Transitional Care units who cared for our Mom. We are all very grateful for your loving kindness and exceptional care. As our mother wished, there have been private arrangements made by Salser and Dillard with A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Please mail condolences to The Utsler Family, at P.O. Box 3325. Visalia, CA 93278. or Dost memorial tributes at www.salseranddillard.com.
