Diane Ballard Diane Elaine Ballard (Di-Di), 60, passed away on April 6, 2014 at her home in Pixley. She was born on October 1, 1952 in Tulare, California. Diane was well liked and known to all in her community. She had many jobs throughout her life from driving tractors, picking cotton, to handyman work. But her real passion in life was caring for children. Although she never had any biological children of her own, she cared for and helped raise many children in her community. To say she was like a second mother to some is an incredible understatement. Her family's hearts go out to the many children she helped raise, because we know that her passing is like the loss of a parent. Diane was a great person with a huge heart. She was kind, generous, and loving. She was a giver, and when she could not give monetarily, she gave with her time and love. Simply said, this world is a better place because she was in it. She will be greatly missed by her family, along with her extended family which includes the community of Pixley. Diane is preceded in death by her father Hollis Ballard, her mother Birdie Lee Ballard and brother Daryl Ballard. She is survived by her sister Gwen Ballard of Lindsay, brothers Tim Ballard of Tulare and Gary Ballard (Weasel) of Idaho, and her beloved dog Charlie. Interment will be privately held by immediate family members. Arrangements are by Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service.
