George Baxter Buyuklian George Baxter Buyuklian of Visalia passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 89 years at Linwood Meadows in Visalia, California. George was born on May 10,1924 in Fresno, California to Bagadsar and Helen Buyuklian. At the young age of 18 he joined the US Air Force where he played trumpet in the band. When WWII broke out, there was a need for fighting men so George joined the army. He had a very colorful army career where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and with the Fighting 106th. After leaving the Armed Forces, George pursued his interest in automobiles and auto mechanics. He worked in many auto parts stores over the years, among them Lucky's, Pep Boys, Grand Auto and Cal Auto. He then opened his own parts store in Hawaiian Gardens, California and with his wife, Virginia, and his son, ran that establishment for over 10 years. George is pre-deceased by his mother, Helen and father, Baxter, his son Michael, his sister MaryAnn and brother, Harry. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Virginia, and sons Myron and Harry as well as many nieces and nephews. George was loved and will be missed by many. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Linwood Meadows for the excellent care they provided him while he was there. Private services will be held.
