Sandra Rexine McNearney It is with great sadness that the family of Sandy McNearney announces her passing on May 1, 2014, after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Jim, and her four sons, Dane (Karen), Jimmy (Leah), Neil (Lisa), and Lance (Olivia); her grandchildren, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Connor, Katherine, Sarah, Samantha, and four great grandchildren, and her brother Danny Chase, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was born on March 31, 1945 in Robbinsdale, MN. As a child, Sandy moved several times and lived with extended family. At an early age she lived with her grandmother in South Dakota. At age 10, she moved to Gilroy, CA to be with her mother Jeri and step-father, Tony. She graduated from Glendora High School in 1963 and attended Sacramento College of Dental-Medical Assistants where she became a dental assistant. She married her husband Jim on June 21, 1969 and lived in San Diego, CA before moving to Visalia, CA in 1972. After raising her family, she obtained her real estate license and worked with her husband at All Estates Realtors. Jim and Sandy were married for 45 years. Sandy was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to her family. She was very creative and enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting, photography, going to the coast and an occasional casino, shopping for antiques and collectibles, but most of all being with her family and friends. She was blessed with grandchildren that she loved to visit and spend time taking them to the park or just watching them play. She had a love for animals and helped rescue, foster, and adopt many of them (including her beloved black lab, Daisy). She was active in a variety of clubs and organizations including: Soroptimist International, Tulare County Association of Realtors, Women's Trade Club of Tulare County, and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
