Andres Hinojosa Jr Andres (Chito) Hinojosa Jr., 79, of Tulare, went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 18, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Minnie Hinojosa; his daughter Nora Macias and her husband, Jesse Macias; his son, Andy Hinojosa and his wife, Loretta Hinojosa; his four grandchildren, Melody Macias, Steven Macias, Sabrina Hinojosa, and Jesse Macias Jr. Andres was born on June 14, 1935 and was raised in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Andres Sr. and Rosenda Hinojosa. He was preceded in death by his sister Nasaria (Hinojosa) Barron and Cesar Hinojosa. He is survived by his sister Angie (Hinojosa) Hance and his brother Hector Hinojosa. He was a U.S. Marine and served our country from 1957-1960. Andres arrived in California in 1964 and worked as an insurance salesman in this community for over thirty years. As a great guitar player, he loved to share music with anyone who would lend him his or her ear. He dedicated much time to playing for his church family at St. Rita's Catholic Church. He also participated in various organizations including Edad de Oro, GI Forum, and multiple music groups including Los Mescaleros. He was a loyal friend, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a wonderful grandfather who will be greatly missed. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 12-8 p.m. at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel in Tulare. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 South O St. Tulare with a burial following at the North Tulare Cemetery.
