Tony Mendonca Tony Mendonca of Visalia passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 22nd, 2014 at the age of 85. Born Antonio Inacio Mendonca to Manuel I. and Isabel Mendonca on August 12th, 1929 in Visalia, CA, Tony was the third of nine children. Tony graduated from Visalia Union High School in 1947, and on September 25th, 1949, he married the love of his life, Nadine Silva. Together they entered into the dairy business. Tony proudly served the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, going back to the dairy after his service until 1964. Tony went into sales selling tobacco and candy for Shifferts Wholesale of Visalia, and in 1976, after earning his AA Degree from COS, he went to work for Mechanics Choice, and later Kimball Midwest selling farm shop and industrial supplies until his retirement. In addition to his wife of 65 years, Tony is survived by his daughter Tonya Mendonca-Olivas of Hanford, grandchildren Micah and Chloe Olivas of Hanford, and his son David A. Mendonca of Tulare. Tony is also survived by his sisters Mary Alves of Tulare, and Eva Soares of Visalia. Brothers Manuel I. Mendonca of Hanford, John I. Mendonca of Visalia, Joe I., George I., and Carl Mendonca of Tulare, and Edward Mendonca of Bend, Oregon. Visitation will be held at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave, Visalia, CA on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 from 4:30pm until 7:30pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30pm. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 27th, 2014 at 11:00am at Visalia District Cemetary.
