Minerva Rickman Minerva Rickman, 59, of Visalia, CA lost her battle with cancer on August 23, 2014. Minerva was born on August 23, 1955 in San Antonio, TX. Minerva became a correctional officer at Corcoran State Prison in 1989 and retired in February 2014. She met the love of her life, Gary Rickman, in 1991. They were married on January 30, 2006. Minerva was vibrant, spontaneous, feisty, and generous. She loved to travel, especially to the ocean. She enjoyed riding on motorcycles, reading, gardening, word puzzles, and collecting pig memorabilia. Minerva's greatest joy was her family. Minerva was preceded in death by her father, Joe Sanchez. Minerva is survived by her mother Ninfa Sanchez, her siblings Janie, Irma, Carlos, Vickie, and Becky, her husband Gary Rickman, her seven children Melissa and husband Mark Smith, Melanie and husband Brad Butler, Christina and husband Jose Garcia, Randy Cabral and wife Norma, Mari and husband Bryan King, Chris Rickman and wife Lori, and Ashlee Rickman. Minerva has 12 grandchildren and 4 grand-dogs. Minerva was a spirited, kind, and funny woman who touched many lives and made friends wherever she went. She will be dearly missed. There will be a viewing at Salser & Dillard on August 27, 2014 from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside ceremony will be held at Visalia Cemetery on August 29, 2014 at 10am.
