Zelma Rose Morris Zelma Rose Morris, 88, of Visalia passed away on August 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Robert Lincks and Gerttie Wright Lincks on September 8, 1925 in Van Buren, Arkansas, the seventh of nine children. Zelma was married January 9, 1943 in Hollywood, CA for 70 years to the late Beamon Morris of Visalia. She was a devoted wife and mother of five children and fostered over 30 babies. She blessed all with her amazing southern hospitality and cooking. Her small two-bedroom one-bath home in Sun Valley, CA felt more like a mansion than house, which entertained family and friends over a span of 50 years. Zelma was a devout Christian with a bold and unquenchable love for Jesus Christ. Her faith in God was unwavering. She was generous in loving, serving and praying for others. To know her was to also know she loved to laugh. Her laugh was contagious and her sense of humor was quite entertaining and made for great stories! She enjoyed playing games, listening and singing to old hymns and country music, and watching her favorite cooking or game shows. You could always find her in the back yard either watering her beautiful flowers, and fruit trees, or sitting on her back patio porch rocking in her favorite swing chair. But, more than anything, she loved people. Family and friends were Zelma's passion and delight! Zelma is survived by her daughter Cheryl Hamilton of Exeter, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sons Jimmy Morris of Exeter and Jerry Morris of Three Rivers, daughters Beverly Brackett of California Hot Springs and Vikki Wright of Visalia. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Three Rivers Cemetery by Pastor Dayton Kitterman. A memorial tribute may be offered at www.salseranddillard.com.
