Juan Rodriguez Obituary
Juan Baiza Rodriguez, a.k.a. "Sugar Bear", passed away October 6, 2010, at his Tulare home, at the age of 59. He was born December 27, 1950 in Tulare, California to Francisco and Margarita Rodriguez. Juan attended Tulare Union High School in Tulare, CA. He dedicated the last 17 years of his working career to Kraft Foods in Tulare. He strongly valued the relationships he built with co-workers. Even late in life, his pursuit for growth allowed him to accomplish his dream of receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Phoenix. In his spare time Juan enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and one of his bigger passions was playing his bass guitar. Juan played with notable local music groups such as "August", "The Charades", "The Chantez", and most recently "The Spirals." One of his favorite music styles was Salsa music. Juan's love of life and positive outlook were recognized by all who knew him. Juan is survived by his wife, Rosa Rodriguez; children, Michael, Monica, Jesse, Francisco, and Dalila; mother, Margarita Rodriguez; brothers, Joe, Frank, Ray, Manuel, and Robert; several nephews; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Rodriguez. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel. Rosary and Mass will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 So. O St. Burial will follow at North Tulare Cemetery.
