Santos Romero Arrona Sr. November 1, 1921 - April 6, 2012 Santos was one of ten children born to Selso Arrona and Sotera Romero in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico. Santos attend schools in Kern, Riverside, Tulare County and graduated from Visalia Union High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country as a medic during World War II (1942-1946) in the European Theater of Operations. Santos ended his service as a Sargeant and received an honorable discharge. In 1948 Santos met the lovely Anita Corrales and married her on January 30, 1949; they had three children: Santos Arrona Jr., Velia Diaz, and Rudy Arrona. In 1982 Anita Arrona, his loving wife of 34 years, passed away. Santos retired from J.C. Penney Co. in Visalia after working there for 25 years. Santos was active member of his community, he volunteered for fifteen years with the Senior Center delivering Meals on Wheels. From 1968-1981 Santos was a board member of the Tulare County Legal Service Association. He was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion Sierra Post 785. In 1992 Santos married Rebecca Mosqueda, and became a father to her five daughters and their children. They both were active members of the Guadalupe Society at Holy Family Church, Eucharistic Minister and Cruciesta. Santos is survived by his wife Rebecca, his three children and their spouses, five step-daughters, sister Soledad Garcia, brother Frank Arrona, 23 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Santos was a wonderful person and a loving family man, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Rosary for Santos Arrona Sr. will be held Tuesday April 17 at Miller Memorial Chapel at 6 pm, Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church on April 18, at 10 a.m. Condolences may be offered at www.millerchapel.com under the direction of Miller Memorial Chapel, Visalia, CA
