Geraldine (Ellis) Mason Gerrie was born to Lee and Eula Sims Blair in Stuart, OK on December 20, 1921. She went home to the Lord on November 13, 2012. Her sisters Bessie, Pauline, Lacine and Gwendolyn preceded her in death. Gerrie grew up in Tranquillity, CA and was a member of the high school's band and tennis teams. During World War II, she moved to Long Beach to build B-17 airplanes and later joined the Navy to serve as a WAVE. In 1948, she married Howard Ellis and they had two daughters. The family first lived in Fresno and later made a home in Visalia. After Howard's death, Gerrie went back to work as a beautician and later as a proof reader for Jostens. In 1989 she married her high school sweetheart, Jack Mason. They moved to Cutler where she lived until shortly before her death at 90 years old. Gerrie was a member of the Visalia United Methodist Church and the Martha Washington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Her daughters, Pat Campbell and Leslie Taylor and her son-in-law Gary Campbell survive her. She had four grandsons: Matt Campbell, Scott Campbell, Ryan Taylor and Erinn Taylor as well as six great grandchildren. Her brother-in-law, James Vaughan, her sisters-in-law, Katherine Moore and Helen Mason, and many nieces and nephews also survived her. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00am at Fresno Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.
