Gloria Rae Longlee Gloria Rae Longlee, 89 years old, passed away on November 15, 2012. She was born in Portland, Oregon on May 18, 1923. She lost her mother while in High School and was raised by her aunt, Mary Fryer of Dallas, Oregon. She graduated from Madera High School in Portland, Oregon in 1941. She then moved to San Francisco and worked as a government employee. While there, she met and later married Vernon Floyd Longlee on July 31, 1954. They were married for 58 years. They relocated that same year to Tulare, California and lived there until their passing. She worked 25 years and retired from Josten's Yearbook in Visalia. She was involved in and enjoyed being around her children and their activities. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and a Blue Bird's Leader as well as being active in the PTA. After retirement, she took on painting and quilting classes and belonged to the Valley Oak Quilting Guild. Many of her quilts were entered and displayed at the Tulare County Fair. During retirement Vern and Gloria enjoyed traveling around the country, many times with friends. She is survived by her twins, Janet and husband Lon Trent of Fresno, Steve Longlee and wife Rene of Visalia. Also survived by five grandchildren, David and Matthew Trent of Fresno, Shawn Longlee of Apple Valley, Sara Longlee of Visalia, Mellissa and husband Greg Bisel of Laguna Niguel, three great grandchildren, Ashton, Kylah, and Tyler Bisel of Laguna Niguel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vern and infant son James Longlee. The family acknowledges with deepest thanks the love, courage, and support given by Crystal Yost and Brooke Morton, Mom's "Angel" caregivers. Also a special thanks to her closest neighbors and friends who were always there for Mom with a helping hand. Chapel services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 1:30 pm at Millers Tulare Funeral Home, 151 N. "H" Street, Tulare, CA. Burial will be at Tulare District Cemetery.
