Judith "Judy" Wilds Marriage Counselor A 22 year resident of Visalia, Judith "Judy" Rose Wilds was born on July 6, 1940 and went to be with her Lord on December 10, 2012, at the age of 72. Judy is survived by her husband of fifty years, Larry; their three children, Kathy Dadras, Jenny Siwek, and Amanda Wilds; her brother, Steven Rose of England; her sister, Paula Reed of Idaho; and four grandchildren. Judy was born in Albuquerque, NM and moved to the Los Angeles area as a young child. She graduated from Westchester High School; and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education at UCLA. She then went on to obtain her Physical Therapist certificate at Children's Hospital. After moving up to Chief of Physical Therapy at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, she began pursuing and obtained her Master's Degree at CSU Dominguez Hills in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 1989, Judy began working for Porterville Youth Incorporated and later, Visalia Mental Health. She became a Mental Health Site Manager for Tulare County and retired in 2007 as such. Judy married Lawrence Wilds, Jr., on February 10, 1962 in Los Angeles, California. They lived in Los Angeles, North Hollywood, Garden Grove, Westminster, and, for the last 22 years, in Visalia. Judy was very active at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulare, California. She participated and/or led in the Episcopal Church Women, Altar Guild, Lay Ministry and Vestry. Most recently she was voted as "2012 Honored Woman of the Year" by the Episcopal Church Women. Judy enjoyed reading, puzzling, walking, and traveling. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be sorely missed. We want to thank Kaweah Delta Hospice, especially Renee, for providing exceptional and exemplary care during the short time we were able to bring Judy home. We also thank Father Rob Eaton who gently guided Judy to the "peace that passes all understanding". Interment will be private. A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held on Friday, December 21st at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulare, CA. Judy asked that any memorials be sent in her honor to the St. John's building fund, 1701 E Prosperity Ave., Tulare, CA 93274. A memorial service will held at 7 PM on Friday, December 21, 2012 at St John Episcopal Church, 1701 E. Prosperity, Tulare CA. Private burial.
