Marlys Ann Grimmius Marlys Ann Grimmius went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Marlys was born on November 3, 1939 in Clara City, Minnesota to Conrad and Sophia Tebben. She met her husband, John while attending Dordt College in Iowa. They married on June 17, 1959. John and Marlys settled in Southern California and then moved to Visalia in 1964. Marlys was a housewife, mother and grandmother. Music was her life and she played the piano all her life. Marlys taught piano lessons, directed children's musicals, and directed choirs. She was the pianist for Tulare Western High School and Central Valley Christian High School choirs for several years. She was a church organist for over 40 years. Marlys was involved in Christian Women's Club, serving as regional chairperson of the local club, as well as being a regional representative, speaking at clubs all over California. Marlys' desire was to reach people for God. Marlys is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Grimmius of Visalia; her son, Henry (Tami) Grimmius of Fresno; her daughter, Jeanie (Tom) McGuigan of Visalia; and her daughter, Nancy (Roy) Ludwig of Visalia. Marlys adored her grandchildren: Amanda and Megan Grimmius, Sara McGuigan and Nathan (Kelsey) McGuigan. She is also survived by her brothers, Ken (Donna) Tebben of St Croix Falls, WI and Mark (Robin) Tebben of Minneapolis, MN; and her sisters, Rachel (Wally) Marcus of Tempe, AZ and Connie (Al) Negen of Lawrence, KS. Marlys was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 4 - 7 pm at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA. Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 11 am at the Tulare Community Church, 1820 Gem Street in Tulare. The family requests that donations be made in Marlys' name to the Central Valley Christian School Tuition Assistance Fund, 5600 W.
