Jeane Annette Dever Jeane Annette Dever passed away on December 30th after a short illness. She was born on February 15, 1926 to Edward and Edith Cudigan in Los Angeles, CA where she grew up. Jeane graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1944 and then attended U.C. Berkeley where she was a History major. She became a lifelong member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. While attending college Jeane met Harold (Bill) Dever and they quickly fell in love and were married on June 6, 1948. They lived in Northern CA and Southern CA before moving permanently to Visalia with their son David in December of 1970. In Visalia Jeane worked for the Tulare County Welfare Department for approximately 15 years. She worked in numerous departments and was a Supervisor when she retired. One of her favorite departments was Child Protective Services. She felt she was able to make a difference in the lives of children who were in difficult situations. She was a very caring and giving person and always put everyone else first. Jeane was involved in numerous activities during her lifetime. Her favorite two were Bridge and Bunco. She belonged to more than one Bridge group and loved keeping her Bunco group organized. Jeane's passion for history lead her to enjoy traveling both domestically and abroad with her husband, to learn and experience the geography and cultures around the country and the world. Jeane also enjoyed her two granddaughters. She loved spending time with them and cooking for them. In recent years, after her husband Bill passed away, she enjoyed living with and traveling with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Her last trip was to Disney World just 7 weeks before she passed away. Her reference to it in the hospital was that "It was an amazing trip!" The other highlight in her life has been the recent addition to the family of her great granddaughter Madison. Grandma Loved spending time with her. She is survived by her son David Dever and his wife Shelley, granddaughter Danielle, granddaughter Leah and her husband Justin Rutledge, her great-granddaughter Madison, all from Visalia; and her sister Carol Scheder and her husband John, a nephew Ken Scheder and his wife Tanya, and nieces Nadine and her husband Steve Turner, and Rae and her husband David Cook, and their families, all from Georgia.
