Alastair Duncan Forrest Fraser ( 1927-2013) Alastair Duncan Forrest Fraser passed from this life January 17, 2013 at the age of 85, with his family at his side. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland December 12, 1927 to Robert Forrest Fraser and Mary Kinghorn Duncan Fraser, and moved to Los Angeles when he was a child. Al, as he was known to his friends, graduated from EI Camino College and worked for Hughes Aircraft for 29 years. In 1950 he met Loretta Mae Anderson at a church function in Beverly Hills, and they married in September 1951. The couple had four sons while residing in Southern California. In 1974 the family moved to Visalia and purchased acreage in Orosi where Al spent the next 32 years farming avocados, olives, and oranges. Throughout the years, the family enjoyed snow skiing in different parts of the country, water skiing, and camping . Al and his wife Lori had the opportunity to travel extensively, and as their sons married, Fraser family reunions and holidays took place in Peru, Matzalan, Hawaii, Cambria, and st. Lucia, West Indies. Al and Lori have spent the past 20+ years dividing their time between their homes in Visalia and Maui, Hawaii. 2012 found all four sons and their families celebrating Al's last Christmas together in Visalia . An old-fashioned Scottish wake was held in honor of this very kind and noble gentleman on the evening of January 18, 2013. Alastair is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Lori; son Alan and his wife Donna of Woodlake; son Glenn and his partner Ray of Visalia; son Ian and his wife Corrine of Maui, Hawaii; son James and his wife Glenna of Flagstaff, Arizona; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
