Paul Staebler Correctional Officer Paul E. Staebler lost his fight with his 3rd round of cancer on Feb. 1, 2013 in Visalia, CA at the age of 56. Paul was born April 11, 1956 in Tulsa, OK. He served our country in two branches of the service. He first served the Army and then the Navy. Paul was a life time member of Amvets Post 56. He was well known as a world traveler and always had great stories to tell. Paul worked at Morris Levin for 16 years as a Floor Manager. Then he worked at California Department of Corrections in Avenal State Prison as a Correctional Officer. He later became a Correctional Sergeant and loved his job. He worked in Avenal for 14 years until his second round of cancer hit him and he was forced into early retirement. Paul's favorite past time was working on his 1968 Ford Mustang. He loved restoring it with original parts and from the ground up. He was very proud of his Mustang and talked about it frequently. His other hobbies were world travel, photography, panning for gold, metal detecting, gambling, playing the guitar and he was a history buff on the wars. Paul fell in love on with the love of his life, Jeannette Harris on July 5, 2003. They were soon married on May 5, 2003 and were married for 9 years when his 3rd and final battle of cancer took him away. Paul is preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Marie Daley of Boston, Ma and his sister, Kathy Staebler of Tulare, CA. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Staebler in Visalia, CA, his father, Robert Staebler in Tulsa OK, his two cats, Dammit and Baby and his 4 Sheltie dogs, Tasha, Shiloh, Shania and Casey (which he nicknamed her, the Democratic Flirt). There will be a Celebration of Life on, Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Doris Harris's resident at 1006 S. Kent Ct. in Visalia, CA. Private burial.
