Evalena Stokes Jacques Evalena Stokes Jacques was born in Visalia on June 13,1927. She went to be with the Lord Jesus on April 3, 2013 at the age of 85. Evalena lived in Elderwood, Ca. As a child then attended grammar school in Visalia and graduated from Visalia Union High School. She loved her family and kept all the family history. She loved painting pictures and writing poems and stories, and playing the piano and organ. She married Louie Jacques in 1947 and they were married 62 years. They had four children. She was preceded in death by her husband Louie Jacques, son Steven Jacques, mother Eva Stokes, brother Richard Stokes, and sister Nancy Adams. She is survived by daughter Charlotte (Bill) Aslin, son Bernard (Laura) Jacques, daughter Yvonne (Bert) Hunsucker, all of Visalia, sisters Bernice Flores of Visalia, Saundra (Mike) Berry of Sequoia National Park, Gloria Easley of Squaw Valley, CA, Cleo (Chris) Brannon of Bakersfeld, sister in law Sonya Stokes and cousin Daryl Stokes of Visalia, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. We love you Mom. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00am at the Visalia District Cemetery. Arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.
