Manuel U. Covarrubias, Sr. Farm Labor Manuel Uribe Covarrubias, Sr., 84, of Ocotlan, Jalisco, passed away peacefully with his wife Socorro Covarrubias by his side, on April 14, in Exeter, CA. Manuel was born in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Maria Uribe and Pascual Covarrubias on March 23rd 1929. He came to the United States in 1944 to work in farmland. Manuel is preceded in death by his his parents, Maria and Pascual, brothers Felix, Jose, Francisco, Secundino, sisters Emilia, Maria, and grandson Patrick Canas. Manuel is survived by his wife Socorro; sister Naty; sons Manuel, Victor, David, Manuel, and David; daughters, Carmen, Martha, Irma, Linda (Sor Teresita del Niño Jesus), Maria, and Linda; 54 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful friends and family that have offered their love and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be held at Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel on Thursday, April 18th from 2-6 p.m. A rosary led by his daughter, Sor Teresita, will begin at 6.p.m. at the chapel. Funeral services will be held at the Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel on Friday, April 19th at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at the Exeter Cemetery. A small reception will be held at the Church of God located at 246 West Chestnut in Exeter, following the burial. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.evansmillerguinnchapel.com.
