Ronald G. Killinger Sr Retired Deputy Sheriff Ronald (Ron) Killinger Sr., a retired Tulare County Sheriff of Visalia and a thirty year veteran of Law Enforcement went to the Lord on August 3, 2013, at the age of 75. Ron was born in Dayton Ohio to Joseph and Loveda Killinger. After receiving his GED, he attended Alan Hancock College and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Ronald also held a Post Certificate along with numerous related certificates. He was nominated for Officer of the Year, two years in a row. He served this state with Honor, Dignity, and Respect. He also served in the Navy and received a Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge after serving in Korea. Ron's hobbies were drag racing, traveling, loved the ocean and fixing up old cars. He attended Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada every year and won numerous awards for car shows. He was on many Bowling teams in Southern California and Visalia. Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends. Ron is survived by his sons Ron Killinger Jr. of Reno, Nevada and Barney Killinger of Lakeland, Florida, daughter Susanne Killinger Solis of Seattle, Washington, his brothers Gerald Killinger of Santan, Arizona, Kenneth Killinger of Butler, North Carolina, sister Barbara Smilko of Camarillo, California and eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren A Graveside service will be held 10 AM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 E.
