James E. Zearley 12-03-32 - 11-22-13 James E. Zearley (Jim) entered eternal life at age 80 on Friday, November 22, 2013 with his loving family at his side in Redding, Ca. Jim was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1932. He graduated from Visalia Senior High in 1952. He served in the US Air Force and in the US Army, retiring with honors in 1974 as a Vietnam Veteran. After retirement, he began a career as a Salesman and Mechanic working with automobiles and one of his many passions, boats. Jim was a beloved sports fan and the true definition of a family man. We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from him. He taught us the meaning of unconditional love and always showed courage, strength, and faith throughout his life. He left us with wonderful memories and stories that will be cherished for a life time. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Samuel and Ethel Zearley and Brothers Herman and Leroy Zearley. Jim is survived by his wife, Alberta (Betty) Zearley, four children: Steven (Joann) Zearley, Janette (Pat) Cullen, Michael (Paula) Zearley, and Kathleen (Ken) Gibbs; seven grandchildren: James Zearley, Michael Hutton, Jamie (Jason) Fox, Ken (Sheena) Zearley, Rainy Zearley, Russell Simas, and Jonathan Ducan; 11 great grandchildren, brother Thurman (Barbara) Zearley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. Funeral Services will be held at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 5th at 11am in Redding, CA. Military Honors will be held at 2pm at the Northern California Veteran's Cemetery in Igo, Ca. A celebration of life will be held at the Ono-Igo Community Church following the services.
