Ernest Polodan

PODOLAN, ERNEST; 86; of New Haven; died July 12, 2013. During W.W.II, he served in the Army Air Corp. In 1990, Ernest retired from Detroit Edison where he was a lines investigator. He was a New Haven High School graduate, served on the New Haven Village Council, New Haven School Board, a former New Haven Police Officer and Commissioner. Surviving are his wife, Betty (nee Peters); children, Edward (Patricia), Lynda (George) Fordyce, James, Dennis (Dorothy), Kenneth (Debbie), Meribeth (Dave) Fordyce and Gerald (Rebecca); sister, Rose Mattise; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward and a grandchild. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at First Congregational Church, 58801 Main St., New Haven. Burial in Centennial Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 2 to 8 p.m. at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 North Ave., Armada and at church Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials to Family Wishes.
