Brickel, Jack Walter; 87; of Richmond Township, Michigan; died August 22, 2014. He was born January 13,1927, in Saginaw Michigan, to the late Charles and Hilda Brickel. He married Mary Louise Squanda on September 11, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Brickel owned and operated Brencal Contractors, Inc., for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a University of Michigan Alumni and avid fan. He was an active member of St. Augustine Catholic Parish of Richmond, Michigan. He was a long time farmer, hunter and fisherman. He was a W.W.II naval veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Louise (Mary Lou, Mitz) of Richmond, MI; daughters, Lisbeth (Marvin) Yaek of Richmond, MI, Barbara Grob of Kalamazoo, MI, and Alexia (Mark) Ottenbacher of Lenox, MI; sons, Steven Brickel, Charles (Cynthia) Brickel, Brian (Mary) Brickel, and Joseph (Christine) Brickel of Richmond, MI. He is also survived by 51 great grandchildren, Derek and Curtis Yaek, Evan and John Plonka, Alexis and Braden Process, Maddisyn and Matthew, Jr. Genereaux, Nathan, Jacob, Olivia and Caleb Ryan, Madeline, Elaine and Bryce Yaek, Clayton and Austin Schultz, Jase Yaek, Baliey Yaek, Henry and Emma D’Souza, Penelope and Walden Grob, Darrin and Dennis Ottenbacher, Lane, Cashton and Macie Trusty, Mitchell Ottenbacher; Gaige, Luke and Jett Towner, Blake Ballard; Mackenzie Ottenbacher, Jack, Nicholas and Ryan Brickel, Sydney, James and Alaina Brickel, Riley, Ethan and Joshua DeLange, Mason, Kayli and Aubree Brickel, Claude and Lina Sneed, Brianna and Logan Hebel, Ava Brickel, He is also survived by a brother, Dick (Kathy) Brickel; and sister-in-law, Lucy (Bob) Brickel, both of Saginaw; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services by Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond, were held Tuesday, with Burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Richmond. Memorials are suggested to Richmond High School Athletic Scholarship Fund.
