Abeyta, Roy Gilbert  
Roy Gilbert Abeyta January 29, 1938 - December 7, 2014 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Roy Gilbert Abeyta. Born January 29th, 1938 in Abeytas, NM to Joe and Pana Abeyta. The family moved to Daggett, CA in the mid 1940s. Gilbert was known for playing jokes on everyone. He enjoyed making people laugh. He went to elementary school in Daggett and graduated from Barstow Union High School in 1956. He had the distinction of being the very first graduate from Barstow Community College in 1961. After college he joined the Army and went to Korea. While in the Army he became a marksman with the rifle. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He retired from the Marine Base after 34 years in 1995. He enjoyed his retirement with trips to stateline and arguing with his mom. He was devoted to her and visited her every day. One of his greatest joys was becoming a grandpa. He loved being "Tata". He would spoil all of his grandchildren with trips to Del Taco for fries. He loved taking them to the park, playing in his front yard and watching them enjoy the pool. He enjoyed watching them participate in sports, school activities and band. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, in October of this year. He is survived by daughter, Michelle Carter (Michael); sons, Gilbert Abeyta and Larry Campbell; grandchildren, Ethan, Harley and Joshua Carter and Laci, Carrisa, Noah and Naomi Campbell; brothers, Paul (Nancy), Mel (Olivia), Rudy (Ingy), Lorenzo (Vicki) and Anthony (Gloria) Abeyta; sister Rosemaria (Al) Sauer; and a large group of nieces and nephews whom he adored. Services will be Monday December 15th, 2014 at St. Joseph. Rosary at 11 a.m., Mass at noon. Reception following at Noonan Hall.

Raymond R. Barnes III January 11, 1979 - November 28, 2014 In Loving Memory, Raymond R. Barnes III was a Carpenter by trade, working side by side with his father for many years. He was talented in music and art and writing poems and stories. He loved his family beyond words. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond R. Barnes and is survived by his father, Raymond R. Barnes Jr., mother, Donna Barnes, grandmother, Geraldine Barnes, sister Brandy Sanchez, and her husband preceded in death, Danny Sanchez and their three children, sister, Kimberly Johnson, her husband, David and their three children, brother, Kevin Barnes, his wife, Melissa, and their three children, brothers, Travis Barnes, T.J. Elders, Taryn and Tyler Gorman and their families, his many aunts, uncles, cousins and best friend and pet, Sadie Mae. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29th at 1:00 PM at Kern Hesperia Mortuary, 16120 Main Street, Hesperia CA. A reception will follow at the VFW Joshua Palms Post 2924, 10184 Hesperia Road, Hesperia CA. Kern Hesperia Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Cruse, Zelma "Louise" - Barstow  
Zelma "Louise" Cruse December 23, 1919 - December 11, 2014 Zelma "Louise" Cruse passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 in Barstow California. Louise was born December 23rd, 1919 in Woodville, Alabama to Albert and Cyntha "Belle" Carlton. Louise was one of nine children and was the last surviving child. In 1940, Louise married her best friend Cia Fence C. Cruse and moved from Oklahoma to plant their roots in Barstow, where they raised their three boys together. Louise was a member of The Church of Christ for many, many years. She thoroughly enjoyed Del Taco lunch, sewing, baking, reading, and spending as much time as she could with her family. Louise had a heart of gold and would give anything she could to someone in need. She is survived by her three boys, Clarence A. Cruse, Edward L. Cruse, and Jimmy H. Cruse (wife Irina); her seven grandchildren, Scheri Cunningham (husband Stephen), Gregory Cruse, Carol Cruse, Jimmy Cruse Jr. (wife Cari), Chris Cruse (wife Darby), Carrie Cruse, and Ivan Cruse; 7 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and numerous relatives. Louise is preceded in death by Clarence C. Cruse (her husband of 56 years); her father Albert; her mother Belle Carlton, and her brothers and sisters. Services will be held Friday, December 19th, 2014 at Mead Mortuary. Viewing will be held at 10 a.m., services at 11 a.m. with graveside to follow.

David "Chiquito" Felix March 23, 1973 - December 4, 2014 David "Chiquito" Felix, 41, passed away on December 4, 2014. He was a resident of Victorville for 41 years. He is survived by his children, Vincent Felix, and Victoria Felix; father Oscar Felix and stepmother Deborah A. Felix; his mother Regina Higuera; sisters, Tricia-Lyn Felix, Lida Felix-Martinez, and Marcie Smith; brothers, Oscar Felix II, and Mell Higuera Jr., and numerous cousins. Services will be at Desert View Memorial Park, 11478 Amargosa St., Victorville, CA on December 19, 2014 at 10am.

OLSON, PATRICIA ANNE (PAT)  
Patricia (Pat) Anne Olson April 20, 1941 - November 30, 2014 Patricia (Dielmann) Olson was born on April 20, 1941 in Mishawaka, IN to Howard and Nola (Matz) Dielmann. She had lived in Apple Valley for half of her life and was called to her eternal reward on November 30, 2014 while a patient at an Inland Empire Care Center. During high school, Pat's family moved from the Midwest to the Sacramento area where her father had a job opportunity. In 1959 she graduated from La Sierra High School in Carmichael and went on to Valparaiso University (Indiana), graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. Returning to California, she was employed in the secretarial field, first by Aerojet and later transferring to IBM. During those years she was active in the National Secretaries Association. In 1972 Pat married Bill Olson, who was then an active duty Air Force officer. They met in church. The wedding took place in Honolulu while Bill was on rest and recuperation (R and R) leave from combat duties in Thailand. They were subsequently stationed in England for five years where Pat gave birth to their two children. She loved gardening and crafts and being a mother and homemaker. And she did it all very well. Moving to the Victor Valley in 1977 upon Bill's reassignment to the former George AFB, Pat became a part of the community as an active volunteer at church and with her children's activities. Both of her children graduated from Apple Valley High School, and the family holds long-time active memberships at Zion Lutheran Church in Victorville. Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by her spouse, children… Mark (Brenda) of Aliso Viejo and Vicki of Minneapolis… mother Nola of Brea, brother Howard (Paula) of Sun Lakes, AZ and sister Marilyn of Orange. A memorial service celebrating Pat's life is planned for Saturday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 15342 Jeraldo Drive in Victorville. Inurnment at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley will take place that afternoon. Friends who wish to make a memorial gift in Pat's honor are invited to direct that gift to Zion Lutheran Church.

Rodock, Evelyn M. (Mlsna) - Hesperia  
Evelyn M. Rodock (Mlsna) July 10, 1925 - December 11, 2014 Evelyn passed away peacefully with her son Greg by her side on December 11, 2014. She was born in Coon Valley Wisconsin, the eldest of 4 children. She married her husband, Archie, of 59 years, in 1953, in Nekoosa Wisconsin and then moved to San Bernardino California in 1957. In 1986 she retired and moved to Hesperia California with her husband Archie Rodock. Evelyn worked as a homemaker and daycare provider for 35 years before she retired in 1986. She was also a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of the Holy Family Ladies Society. She is survived by her three sons, Jerome Guth of Huntington Beach CA, Kenneth Guth of Chattanooga TN and Greg Rodock of Hesperia CA, six granddaughters, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Archie Rodock, her sister Geraldine Thielen, her brother Gerald Mlsna, and her parents Jennie and Edward Mlsna. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Wednesday at Desert View Funeral Home in Victorville California on December 17, 2014 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, with Rosary at 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hesperia California on December 18, 2014 at 11:00am followed by graveside service.

Aurelia "Wita" Sisneros May 6, 1933 - December 3, 2014 Aurelia Sisneros, 81, left this life on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 7:41 a.m. while at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Ca. She was surrounded by her family and will be greatly missed. She was born in Abo, N.M., on May 6, 1933. Aurelia was a beautiful woman, inside and out; her smile would brighten a room. She was loved dearly by her family, and always stayed busy making sure everyone was taken care of. She truly was an amazing woman; an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Aurelia was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Nicholas Sisneros. She is survived by her sons, Alfredes, Melvin, and his wife, Joanne Sisneros; daughters, Caroline and her husband, Antonio Perez, and Bernice Etchamendy. She will be missed by her grandsons, Fidel, Nicholas, and Andrew Sisneros, and Isaac Etchamendy; granddaughters, Tonicarol Garcia, Louisa and her husband, Michael Rios, and Elena De Los Santos; and her great-grandchildren, Ruben, Uolalio, Sollienda, Michael "Angel", Abel, Julian, Rosa, Erika, Brenda, Raymundo, Alfredo, and Alejandro. Aurelia also leaves behind three sisters, Antonia Sisneros, Leonor Flores, and Lily Flores. Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by burial at Daggett Pioneer Cemetery in Daggett. A gathering at the Ramada Inn, 1511 E. Main St., will following the burial.

SMITH, REGINALD L.  
Reginald L. Smith June 6, 1926 - December 10, 2014 On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, Reginald went home to be with our Lord and Savior. He died peacefully with his son Thurston by his side. Reginald was born June 6, 1926, in Pulaski, VA to Marvin and Ada Smith. He was 88 years old. He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his sister, Hazel Veneable of Radford, VA. Reginald began his military career in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served in various arms and ranks of the military, retiring from the Air Force in 1966 after proudly serving over 22 years of military service. He married his wife of 40 years, Bettie L. Combs, on November 13, 1952. She predeceased him on January 3, 1993. Together, they had 8 beautiful children: Charlotte (predeceased 6-26-2010)/Bob Walker, Diane (predeceased 10-6-2011)/Harold Ralston, Robert/Christy, Thurston "Smitty"/Margaret, Dolores/Kenny, Karen/Mark, Raymond/Dawn and Mary/Richard McKlesky, 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by two grandsons, Trevor & Brandon Smith. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Chapel in Apple Valley. Reginald will be laid to rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM, at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family is requesting that donations be made in his name to the Veterans of Foreign War VFW - Hesperia Post 2924, 10184 Hesperia Road, Hesperia CA 92345 or to the Brandon E. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund, Victor Valley College, 18422 Bear Valley Road, Victorville CA 92395.

Truslow, Robert Lewis "Bob"  
Robert "Bob" Lewis Truslow August 2, 1934 - December 11, 2014 Robert (Bob) Truslow of Hesperia died in his home, surrounded by family, on December 11th at the age of 80. A highly decorated veteran, Bob served in the United States Air Force for 33 years with tours of duty in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1984 and continued his service as a Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve until 1987. Bob enjoyed all manner of outdoor activities and was an accomplished marksman. A lover of all creatures great and small, Bob is remembered by his family for his care of animals and his compassion for friends and family. Lovingly referred to as "Mr. Right", Bob did things his way ..... the right way. His clever yet subtle wit will not be forgotten by those who loved him. He is survived by his wife Sheryl, his son Robert, his daughters Sherrie of Orange County, California Teresa of Gilbert, Arizona and step daughter Marcy of the East Bay. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road in Apple Valley, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Victor Valley, 16147 Kamana Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
