GARLAND PARRISH

GARLAND PARRISH 6/11/1935 - 12/16/2013 Garland Gene Parrish a resident of Barstow for 35 years went to be with The Lord, Monday December 16, 2013 at the Veterans Home of California in Barstow. "Gene" as he was known by most, was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on June 11, 1935. Gene was retired from the USMC after 23 years of service, served 7 years in the Reserves, and has been retired from the MCLB for 20 years. He had a passion for bingo and loved playing the lottery. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and a proud Marine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Melba Miller of Detroit Michigan; his loving and beautiful wife, Paz Parrish. He is survived by his son, David Gene Parrish of San Luis Obispo; daughter, Christine Ann Parrish-Clark of Silver Lakes and husband, David Clark; son, Garland Gene Parrish Jr. of Waterford, Michigan and wife, Michelle Parrish and Christopher Castillo of San Diego. His granddaughter, Jennifer Ross and partner Jeffery Downs; grandson, Ryan Beezley and wife, Rosie, grandson, Conrad Beezley; granddaughter, Raquel Dorsey and husband, Andrew Dorsey; grandson, Jerrit Parrish; grandson, Justin Parrish; granddaughter, Leyris Keilani; granddaughter, Kaela Nicole, and grandson, Christopher Castillo Jr., great-grandchildren, Riley Downs, Madison Beezley, Berlin Downs and Chloe Beezley. His celebration of life will be held on Saturday Dec. 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Rd. Barstow, Ca. Reception immediately following at the Recreation Hall on 1000 Windy Pass.
