GARY BAUMGAERTEL 10/13/1959 - 3/4/2014 Gary Baumgaertel, age 54, passed away with his family and friends beside him on March 4th, 2014, after a long illness. Born and raised in Hesperia, Gary was well known for his love of Harleys, fast cars, and women. He always said he attracted more women than a shoe sale at Macy's. That was his story and we're sticking to it. Gary loved riding his Harley and feeling the wind blow through the 5 hairs he had left on his head. Boy, was he proud of those. He was NASCAR's biggest fan and was so excited Dale Jr just won the Daytona 500. He said "I can die in peace now." And he did. He had a wicked sense of humor and was a fiercely loyal friend. He will be missed by so many. Gary is survived by his 3 beautiful daughters, Carla Carlson of Apple Valley, Ashley Baumgaertel of Riverside, and Krystin Baumgaertel of Hesperia, granddaughter Lexi Holt, mother Shirley Baumgaertel of Hesperia, sister and brother-in-law Linda and Mark Gravley of New London, MN, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Chris (O'Grady) Baumgaertel of Oak Hills, brother and sister-in-law Everett and Kathy Baumgaertel of Lawton, OK, many nieces, nephews, and great friends. Waiting for him on the other side were his father Alfred Baumgaertel, brothers Alfred and Kenny Baumgaertel, and sister Pam Devereux. A celebration of Gary's life will be held Saturday, March 8th, 2014, at noon at Victor Valley Mortuary located at 15609 Eleventh St. in Victorville, with a reception to follow at the home of Mike and Chris Baumgaertel. Address and directions will be provided at the ceremony.
