Jean Pierre Coscarat

JEAN PIERRE COSCARAT 5/26/1936 - 1/31/2014 It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Jean Pierre Coscarat. Jean Pierne passed away peacefully at home with his family on January 31. He was born in Saint Etienne De Baigorry France on May 26, 1936. He was preceded in death by sisters Mayie Biscaichipy, Marie Louise Coscarat, brothers Pete, Michael, and Gratien Coscarat. Mother & father, Dominica & Bernard. He is survived by son Andre Bernard Coscarat of Victorville Ca, daughter Wendy Kerins of Costa Mesa. Grandsons Gavin Pierre Coscarat, Grant Kerins and granddaughter Calista Kerins as well as many friends. Jean Pierre served his country for 3 years in Algerian northern Africa. He came to America in 1960 where he became a U.S. citizen. He settled in Chino, Ca where he and his brothers owned and operated Taylors cafe; a bar and restaurant. All the while working at Pasco steel in Pomona, saving his money. Learning that a partnership was available at the Red Rooster bar and restaurant in Victorville, he moved to the high dessert in 1969. After a year of the partnership, Jean Pierre became sole owner and changed the name to Les Pyrnees, which is named after the mountain range in France where he was born. He owned and operated the bar for 22 years, which gave him the opportunity to become a successful businessman. Dad enjoyed fishing and hunting, sports and the company of his friends. Dad had a very kind heart and a generous spirit. He helped many people throughout his life. Dad, I thank you for all the life lessons you gave me. I will spend the rest of my life trying to be half the man you were. I will raise Gavin with the same respect, dignity, and pride you taught me. I miss you already and am honored to be your son. I thank god for the 41 years you were here with me, I just wish I had 41 more. Rest in peace pops. Love always, your forever grateful son.
