Margaret Beth Winterbottom-Blackmore

MARGARET BETH WINTERBOTTOM- BLACKMORE November 4, 1921 November 23, 2012 Passed away peacefully at her home in Victorville. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa. Beth is survived by husband Glenn Blackmore (married 8/8/88) and her only son, Jon Winterbottom of Phoenix, AZ. Her younger years as Mrs. Ross Winterbottom (deceased) were spent in Washington DC. During WWII she was responsible for the monitoring of all the oil production in the entire United States. She later lived in Los Alamos, NM. After raising her son she earned her Doctorate in Psychology. She worked for the Los Angeles County Mental Health Department in Santa Monica. She was a resident of Silver Lakes and had an office in Barstow. She worked with the Child Abuse Task Force in Victorville, helped open The Cooper's Home for troubled boys. She was a supporter of the Set Free Church. This was close to her heart. She was a member of the Victorville United Methodist Church. She and her husband also attended the monthly Voyager luncheon at the Church of the Valley. She was spunky at 91 years of age and attended a senior exercise program with her husband. She loved to tell "her stories". She will be missed greatly by many, especially her loving husband. Victor Valley Mortuary is handling arrangements 760-245-8164
