PAMELA SUE SCHAFER 8/10/1949 - 1/19/2014 It is with great love that we celebrate the life of Pamela Sue Schafer, who passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Victorville, CA. Pam was with her family and friends by her side, when she passed from a lengthy battle with pneumonia. Pam was born August 10, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in Yermo, CA. She graduated from JFK High School in Barstow in 1968. Pam and her family moved to Hesperia in 1999, which came to be her final home. Pam helped her father run the Sunland Gas Station in Yermo for many years until starting her career at the MCLB in Barstow, at the repair division. Pam retired in 2002 after serving 17 years, in which she made many good friends. Pam was a very loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. We are going to miss her dearly. She loved playing bingo, sneaking off to stateline and watching her "Dallas Cowboys." She especially loved caring for her precious dogs "Roxie" and "Petie." Pam is survived by (2 sisters) Louise Clinkenbeard (her husband Don) of Yermo, CA., Sally Lane of Hesperia, CA., (1 brother ) Harold Ed Schafer of Hesperia, CA., (4 nieces) Pamela Walker (her husband Gary) of Ontario, CA., Lisa Goodemote (her husband Randy,) Renee Lane and Lakyn Schafer all of Hesperia, CA., (2 nephews) Don Clinkenbeard of Apple Valley, CA., Jacob Schafer of Hesperia, CA., (great niece) Gabrielle Walker of Ontario, CA., (3 great nephews) John Walker, Kenneth Moore and Brian Clinkenbeard (his wife Tyrra) all of Ontario, CA., (great-great nephews) Ryan and Kyle Clinkenbeard of Ontario, CA., (aunts) Sallye Courtwright & Anita Carr of Bossier City, LA., (uncle) Harold Carr (his wife Rena) of Hickman, KY., (uncle & aunt) John & Evelyn Schafer of Michigan, lifetime friend Debbie LaVoie of Yermo, CA., and many numerous cousins & wonderful friends. Pam was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Louise Schafer. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road in Barstow, with Pastor Bill Long officiating. A Celebration of Pam's Life will follow at the American Legion, Post 797 at 401 Knowles Street in Yermo. A remembrance donation may be made in Pam's name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or ASPCA. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow.
