ROSALIA TORREZ 1/27/1921 - 2/23/2014 Rosalia (Rose) Mirabal-Torrez was born on January 27, 1921 in Mountainair, New Mexico. Growing up during the Great Depression, she managed to find joy in the toughest of times. As a child, she enjoyed spending time at her grandmother's house when not out riding horses or reading books. She married Daniel Torrez at the age of 28 and had nine children. She lived a life dedicated to God and her family. She was very strong in her faith and faced many struggles and losses in life, but still managed, through her faith in God and love of family to find the strength not only to go on, but to love life without bitterness and teach her children to hold on to our faith no matter what life throws our way. Those who were blessed enough to know Rosalia and lucky enough to call her a friend, do not consider the length of Rosalia's life to make her loss easier to bare, but instead find the void left within our hearts amplified. There is some solace to be taken in that she will be reunited with her beloved husband Daniel and he will be dancing with his yellow rose once more. Rosalia passed to our Lord & Savior on Sunday February 23, 2014. Rosalia will be remembered in love and happy memories by her son Roberto Torrez (and Silvia,) a daughter Alicia Torrez, a son William Torrez (and Beth,) a daughter Annabelle Garcia (and Michael,) a daughter Sandra Rivera (and Robert,) a daughter Rosemarie Kanczel, two sons Michael & Joe Torrez, and a brother Antonio Mirabal She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Rosalia was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Torrez Sr., and her son Daniel R. Torrez Jr. A Funeral Mass for Rosalia, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at St. Joseph & I.H.M.
