WILLIAM K. HEROLD

WILLIAM K. HEROLD 5/23/1934-7/19/2014 William Key Herold was born May 23, 1934 in Washington D.C. to Samuel P. and Virginia Estelle Herold. He was the youngest of 4 siblings; Mildred Williams (94 of LeHigh Acres, FL), Margaret Williams (deceased), and Samuel Herold (deceased). He graduated from the University of Maryland on June 8, 1957 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill married Hale Austin Bauernschmidt on June 15, 1957. They lived in many places Hamilton, IN, Zanesville, OH and Derry NH before settling in Ridgecrest / China Lake in 1967. He retired from China Lake Naval Weapons Center in 1996 after 29 years of service. He was a member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church in Ridgecrest. He and Hale moved to Victorville in 1998 where he became a member of St. Hilary's Episcopal Church. Bill was a loving, kind and compassionate man, he was a perfect example of believing in God. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years Hale; daughter Melody Miller and her husband Eric of Apple Valley; son John and his wife Connie of Berwyn, IL; grandsons William Reymond, John William Herold, Samuel Herold, Edwin Zamora and Eric Zamora; granddaughters, Erica Redford and Shardey Miller; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Sterling Inn Community for all the love and care they gave to us, especially to our Dad. Funeral services will be held at St. Hilary's Episcopal Church, 11305 Hesperia Rd. Hesperia, CA 92345 on July 29 at 9:30am. Inturnment will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 24000 Waalew Rd., Apple Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Hilary's Episcopal Church in Bill's name.
