Lucille Elizabeth Newman

LUCILLE ELIZABETH NEWMAN 6/25/1920 - 6/13/2013 Lucille passed away early Thursday morning at St. Mary's Medical Center of complications from a heart attack. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William (Bill) Newman. They have one daughter, Sharon (Hugh) Ebmeyer, nine grandchildren, Nam (Mary) Tran, Bradley (Joddy) Ebmeyer, Lap Van Hua (deceased), Brenda (Kurt) Anderson, Bryan (Robin) Ebmeyer, Bruce (Carolyn) Ebmeyer, Breanne (Brad) Harris, Brock (Korie) Ebmeyer, Brent (Courtney) Ebmeyer, 38 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Lucille was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved with her parents, Joseph and Clara Busch, and her four siblings to Glendale, California at the age of 16. She graduated from Glendale High School and a business college. She worked for Retail Credit Company and then became corporate secretary to Ziegler Harris and Company for 25 years. Upon retirement, she moved with her husband to Apple Valley. She was a founding member of the Assistance League in Apple Valley. She was an avid golfer; twice she won the Lloyd Mangrum Women's Championship, hosted at the Apple Valley Country Club. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sunset Hills Ward, where she served in various auxiliaries. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15500 Tuscola Road, Apple Valley, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. She will be interred at Victor Valley Memorial Park immediately following the service.
