ALMETA H. ANDERSON Almeta H. Anderson, 90, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, at Braswell's Community Care Center in Yucapia, California. Born Nov. 22, 1922 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Almeta was raised in the Charlotte area and graduated in 1940 from Hudson High School in Hudson, North Carolina. A California resident for 58 years, she worked for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Los Angeles. She resided in the Victor Valley and Palm Springs areas for 40 years. January 28th 1973, Almeta married her soul mate, Richard Anderson Sr.. Together they supported one another with love throughout their golden years. Love of traveling took them across the United States, Canada (she loved Banff and Butchart Gardens), London, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. Almeta loved to cook (especially for family gatherings) and her Blueberry Coffeecake was a well known absolute must when the grandchildren were around. She also loved tending to her many rose plants. Almeta was preceded in death by her husband Richard Sr., sister Ruth Brand and step-son Richard Jr. She is survived by her son Donald (Joan) Greene of Helendale, California; step-sons Ken (Judy) Anderson of Mesa, Arizona; Fred (Mary Lynn) Anderson of Pasco, Washington and step-daughter Judy Anderson of Simi Valley, California, as well as her well loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
