ANNA L. TAYLOR On Thursday, November 1, 2012 Anna L. Taylor, a Barstow resident for 57 years left her earthly dwelling for eternal rest and reward with the Lord. Anna was born in Hastings, Colorado and was raised in Williams and Flagstaff, Arizona where she met her husband, Dean who preceeded her in death in 1996. In 1955, Anna, Dean and their two daughters relocated to Barstow from Flagstaff. Anna helped her husband manage the Whiting Brothers service stations in Barstow and Lenwood, then Dean 's Service station in Lenwood. She also worked for Bank of America for 25 years retiring in 1985 as an escrow officer. In 1988 she began working for Barstow Unified School District as a Bilingual Instructional Aide for 16 years until her retirement; all the while devoting herself to her family as a loving homemaker, talented seamstress, and gifted cook. Anna raised two children and created a warm and caring home for her family. She was a fun-loving grandmother and doting great-grandmother enjoying every minute she could spend with her family teaching them to bake, to play games and to love God above all else in their lives. Anna will be remembered fondly by her daughters Mickey Hirsch, Patricia Preston and her husband Mike, her sister Lucy Ruiz, her grandchildren, Christy Pantoja, and her husband George, and grandson Tony Esparza along with three great-grandchildren Bella and Sophia Pantoja and Briana Esparza and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary in Anna's honor will be held Monday Nov 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Barstow followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. in lieu of flowers please make donations to Desert Manna Ministry in her memory.
