BEVERLY BONNEWITZ COFER Beverly passed away on February 26, 2014, at the age of 81. She was born and raised in Long Beach, CA and a long-time resident of Lakewood before residing in Victorville for the past 9 years. Beverly had many luxuries for a girl growing up in Long Beach in the 40s and 50s. Her family was the first in the neighborhood to have a black and white television, complete with a magnified screen. She always shared stories of her fond days at Jordan High School as a Pantherette and her nickname 'bubbles' (matching her personality)! In 1951, she met her husband, Jimmy and she wanted nothing more than to have children … and she did! … Liz, Marty and Tom and the many others that refer to her as 'Mom'. The Cofer House was the place where her children and their friends were welcome and you never were hungry! She is survived by her children; Marty, Tom (Vikki) and Liz McGiffin (Dave), 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, along with her brother Russell, sister-in-law Charlotte and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was married for 57 years to the love of her life, Jimmy Cofer, who she has deeply missed for the past 6 years … now…. they are dancing forever in Heaven! Viewing will be held March 6th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm in the viewing room; Services will be held March 7th at 2:00pm; Forest Lawn Memorial -Parks & Mortuaries, 1500 East San Antonio Dr., Long Beach CA 90807.
