CARMEN CASTANA 11/30/1928-6/9/2014 Carmen Castana, 85, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, in San Angelo, Texas. She was born November 30, 1928, to Augustine and Maria (Espinosa) Mosqueda in San Bernardino, California. After high school, Carmen began a career as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Desert Valley Hospital. She retired after many years of service. On April 5, 1946, she married Joe Castana in Riverside, California; they shared 49 years together before his passing in 1995. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Manuel and Tony Mosqueda; sister Lucy Bocanegra; and granddaughter Yolanda Burright. She is survived by her daughters Diana Hernandez of La Crescenta, California; Joan Langford of Apple Valley, California; Marina Guyett of Azusa, California and Ruth Alvarez of Visalia, California; also surviving her are seven grand-children and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, at the Kingdom Hall, 15475 Amargosa Rd., Victorville, California.
