James was a dear and very close friend some years back and I am so sorry to learn of his untimely passing. He was the best friend to my husband's brother for many years and they speak fondly of him. He came from a warm and loving family and will be missed tremendously.

I will Remember him as the Man I saw and had the pleasure of enjoying at our 30 year Reunion and it's hard to believe he was needed elsewhere. He was a Special Person and made a great impression on me. It really makes you take a look around to recognize the Special Ones still here. So make the time to reach out today and tell them how you feel, you may not have the chance again, God Bless you James and say hello to all our ol' friends, Cheers ! Ride the Wind

I was blessed to visit with James "one last time" at the 30th reunion in November. I enjoyed watching him talk and laugh with others. His expressions (so animated), his smile (so radiant), his eyes (so bright and inviting) and his laughter (so infectious) touched so many at the reunion.

May you, the Rountree family and loved ones, find comfort in knowing you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many people right now. We will spend times in reflection of how James touched our lives; we will cry tears for the void left in our lives; and we will laugh at the stories and memories we have with James. May the love and memories carry you through so many tough days ahead. May God wrap his arms around you as you lean back and look to Him for answers.

Holding you close in prayers.

My deepest condolences to the Rountree family. James was and will continue to be a guiding light for all that is right and just, in this world and the next. His kindness, generosity and passion for others was apparent in him from as long ago as I can remember as little kids. I am deeply honored to have been his friend. Heaven has gained a most special soul.

My sincerest condolences for your family. I went to school with James from 2nd grade to graduation. He was always a fun and interesting guy to be around. Not until recently, due to our 30 year high school reunion, did I find out what an amazing human being he had become. I was unable to attend the reunion and James offered me money to help with expenses. He was so compassionate, patient and understanding. I regret now not going, not seeing his gorgeous smile or hearing his infectious laugh just one more time. I don't have words of wisdom or even comfort for you, as you know better than I what a beautiful person James was - I can't even imagine your loss at this time. Please know that he was LOVED by many, many people who will miss him dearly, myself included.
