MICHAEL LYNN HARRIS Hear ye, Hear ye: To you and all of you, we post this edict to inform the general area of Barstow in the county of San Bernardino that the sun has prematurely set on the life of our brother, and father, the honored and revered Michael Lynn Harris on Saturday, May 25th, in the year of our Lord 2013. Michael was the eighth of nine men blessed by the union of Johnny and Georgia Harris on the 28th day of October in the year of our Lord 1964. He was educated by the Barstow Unified school system until his senior year of high school when he transferred to Montgomery High School in Chula Vista Ca., where he was awarded the San Diego area high school Heisman trophy. He moved back to Barstow after distinguishing himself as a running back for San Diego City College. Michael went to work for B.N.Santa Fe railroad in the summer of 1993. On May 29th in the year of our Lord 1993, he married the girl of his dreams and to this fortunate union one precious son (Dylan) was born. MICHAEL LYNN HARRIS was preceded in death by his parents John and Georgia; by three brothers, Earl, and the twins Ronald and Donald. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his son, Dylan; his brothers, John Jr., Kenneth, Lydell, Cassius, and Bernard. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, loving friends, and his dedicated team members at B.N.S.F. Please join the family at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 1360 Riverside Drive in Barstow for a "Home Going" for Michael on Sunday and Monday. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013, followed by Church Services at 11 a.m., on Monday June 10, 2013. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow.

6 years, wow. I want everyone to know that Dylan (Michael's son) is doing really well. Dylan does or says little things often that bring up thoughts of Michael, we always end up laughing and smiling.

I am heartbroken. Please keep Dylan in your prayers. I don't have words to express my sadness that Michael is gone. That Dylan or I will never again hear his voice, and that he will not be physically there for the rest of our sons life.

I have known Myk for many years, and his passing was a shock to me. He is a great guy, and an awesome bodyguard. The heavens got another Angel when they got Myk. My condolences to his family, and his Son Dylan, who he spoke often of.
