SHIRLEY ANN CAMBRIDGE 9/4/1943 - 2/1/2014 Shirley went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, February 1, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in San Pedro, California, September 4, 1943. Her parents relocated the family to Apple Valley in 1956, where she became an active member of the 4-H Club, and The Dancing Hooves with her beloved horse, "Honey Girl." She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Cambridge, and they shared 46 wonderful years together. Shirley retired from Home Savings and Loan in Victorville after many years in banking. She was very active within the community, supporting various organizations, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International for over 25 years . She and Jim worked to preserve the Indian history linked to our Desert by relocating the Cambridge Family Museum into their home. Shirley loved to travel and spent many years camping and touring the United States with Jim. Her endless love for her children and grandchildren was displayed in all aspects of her daily life, and she always said, "The day was better with a little chocolate." She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Michelle Cambridge of Apple Valley; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Jason Stewart of Berea, KY; three grandchildren, Felisha (Cambridge) Cullum, Kevin Cambridge and Cody Stewart; brother, Ken Schroeder and mother, Lillie Schroeder. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Sunset Hills Memorial Chapel, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley. A reception to follow.
