STEPHEN PHILLIP CUNNINGHAM 6/5/1944 - 6/13/2014 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Stephen Phillip Cunningham, was called home to his Heavenly Father on June 13, 2014. Steve was born June 5, 1944 in Orange, CA to Phillip Cunningham and Leona Culver Fountain. He was in the U.S. Air Force, serving two tours in the Viet Nam War in the mid-1960's. In 1967 he began his career with KTTV-Channel 11 in Hollywood as a cameraman. He moved to CBS-Television City in 1969, working as a video tape editor on "The Carol Burnett Show", "Sonny & Cher Show", as well as others. After being promoted to Technical Director, he traveled to many sporting events for CBS Sports. He was also Technical Director for many shows, including "The Young & The Restless" and many specials. He earned two TV Emmy Awards, as well as having multiple nominations. Later at CBS he became part of management of the Post-Production Dept. until he retired in 2005. After retirement he & Kathie moved to Solera Apple Valley, later called Sun City. They attended & became active in their church, Community Church at Jess Ranch. Steve sang in the church choir as a bass and also sang in the singing groups, Melodix, and Reflective Sounds. He & Kathie enjoyed cruising the world and following Nascar races. Steve is survived by his wife Kathie, son David (daughter-in-law Shannon), daughter Kelley Wilde (son-in-law Edward), sisters Linda Daily & Elizabeth Boteler, grandchildren Cassandra, Phillip, Aubrey & Justin Wilde and Wesley & Julia Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his grandson Edward C. Wilde Jr. His "Celebration of Life" service will be held June 28th at 11:00 AM at the Community Church of Jess Ranch, Apple Valley. A reception will follow. Private internment at Sunset Hills Mortuary.
