MARY A. PARKER 1/30/1930-7/11/2014 Mary A. Parker was called home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2014 after a long illness. She was surrounded by all five of her children throughout her last days. She was born in Adamsville, Tennessee. She moved to Apple Valley from Huntington Beach on Feb. 14, 1967. It was in Apple Valley where she and husband Bud Parker opened five businesses, two of which are still here: Parker Properties and Parker Motor Sports, historically known as Parker's Garage. Mary was a pillar of the community and served it well. Mary is survived by her children Charlotte and John Roddy, Deborah Light, Michael and Liz Light, Les and Sabrina Parker and Lisa and Michael Nash; her grandchildren Eric and Loni Hunley, Sandra and Kevin Bannister, Kristin and Jayson Rege, Tina and Tommy Glidewell, Michelle and Joe Baker, Jeni and Kevin Lindsey, Nathan and Kate Gillis, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus, Cooper and Jaguar Parker and Sean, Madison and Sydney Nash; great-grand- children Andrew, Cory and Jerrod Bannister, Clayton Simmons, Natalie and Dave O'Brien, Taylor and Korissa Hunley, Trevin and Tripp Glidewell, Kenneth, Brian, Samantha and Marissa Darby and Noah and Aiden Rege. We will miss her dearly but know she is in a better place with Dad watching out for us as she has our whole lives. We wish to thank the Valley Crest Memory Care community for all the care and love they gave to all of us, but mostly to Mom. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 24 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road in Apple Valley. We ask that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in the name of Mary A. Parker to Valley Crest to go toward the
's "Walk to End Alzheimer's." Contact Valley Crest at 760-475-9109 for more information on how to donate.
