MARY DIEHL Mary L. Diehl, 69, passed away October 26, 2012 at her home. She was born December 12, 1942 in Barstow, and lived here all her life. Surviving Mary are her children, Kristine Diehl of Barstow, Katrine Diehl of Henderson, NV; granddaughter, Kara of Barstow; siblings, Dick Hisquierdo, Delores Apodaca, Robert Hisquierdo, Lucille Hanify, Margaret Ann Aviles; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, James Diehl; parents, David and Lucille Hisquierdo; and brother, David Hisquierdo. Mary was an avid reader and writer, enjoyed working in her garden, crafting, and painting everything in sight. She had worked at MCLB as a Disbursing Officer, retiring after 36 years. She volunteered at the Mojave Valley Volunteer Hospice for several years, and Calvary Chapel. She was a member of Calvary Chapel for 10 years, and loved Jesus Christ and her family, that was numerous as you could not know Mary without becoming part of her family. Her wit and her laughter will be sorely missed. A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Calvary Chapel, 412 Avenue A, Barstow, at 10 a.m. In memory of Mary, donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties, Barstow Home Health and Hospice Services, c/o 42-600 Cook St., Suite 202, Palm Desert, CA 92211.
