JOSE DURAN SR. Jose R. Duran Sr., 81, of Barstow, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012. He was born on June 26, 1931 in Santa Rita, NM to parents Antonio and Edalia Duran. Jose was married to Rosie Torres in Los Lunas, NM on February 21, 1955. They had 4 children. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Jose was a resident of Barstow for 60 years, and was employed at MCLB as a stockman for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barstow and most enjoyed being with his family, watching sports and mentoring the children he loved. Jose will be remembered by his loving wife, Rosie and their children, Rose Adele Vega and her husband, Jesse, Jose Jr. and his wife, Debra, Paul and his wife, Olivia and Robert and his wife, Gloria; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Antonio and Edalia. Services for Jose will be on Monday, December 10, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Barstow, 1320 Barstow Road. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., with funeral service at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road. Arrangements provided by Mead Mortuary, 760-256-5671.
