LUIS V OLVERA 6/28/1924 - 4/21/2013 Luis V. Olvera, 88 years old. Born on June 28,1924 passed away on April 21,2013 with his family by his side. Beloved husband, Father, grandfather, and Great grandfather. Luis was born in Real Del Monte, Hidalgo, MX. As a young man he had the opportunity to come to the United States to work under an agreement with Mexico and the U.S. during World War II. He worked several jobs before having the opportunity to learn to become a baker, a cook, and finally a Chef of great notoriety in the Imperial Valley, CA. His success prompted him to earn his American citizenship. After his wife Emma's passing he moved to Victorville to be close to family, which stretches from Mexico to the South and Oregon to the North. He enjoyed working on his yard, growing all types of flowers, Almond trees, Peach trees and cactus. As a retired Chef, he also enjoyed preparing special dishes for various family occasions. Luis will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
