ROBERT JAMES DELAND 8/2/1924 - 7/30/2013 Robert was born in Seattle, Washington on August 2, 1924. He was a Navy veteran and served in WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific. After the war Robert moved to Rialto, California where he married and had a son. He worked for 20 years as a steam plant operator at Norton Air Force Base. In 1979 Robert moved his family to Apple Valley, California. Robert enjoyed a full and happy life until his passing in Apple Valley on July 30, 2013. Some of his hobbies were photography, camping, off-roading and traveling the world. His warm and friendly smile will be missed by all. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Athena and is survived by his son Kelland DeLand (Mary) of Apple Valley, his grandson Jason of Florida, his granddaughter Cameron DeLand of Apple Valley, his sister Pam Merrick of Omak, Washington, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. At his request, no service will be held.
