William Weghorst Obituary
Born in Washington County, Texas, July 7, 1922, to Charlie and Maggie Weghorst, Bill lived in Brenham, Texas, where he owned and operated Weghorst Floral Co. for 25 years. He had been residing in Marietta, Ga., for the last 25 years. Bill was a graduate of Brenham High School and attended Texas A&M University.
Bill served in World War II in the European Theatre of Operations, and received the Bronze Star Medal from the 29th Division of the US Army after the invasion of Omaha Beach during the war. He was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Texas Society of Landscape Architects, The Georgia Society of Landscape Architects, and was a certified Landscape Architect and Nurseryman.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Maggie Weghorst; and his wife of 50 years, Lucille Gregory Weghorst.
Survivors include daughters. Wendy Harvey and husband, Rick, of Coldspring, Texas, and Kathy Weghorst of Marietta, Ga.; sons, Bill Jr. and wife, Joan, of Eatonton, Ga., Greg and wife, Sherri, of Hewitt, and Kurt Weghorst of Acworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Chris Dahse, Greg Weghorst Jr., Jake Weghorst, Kelsey Weghorst, Trey Weghorst, Megan Weghorst, Amy Weghorst, and Jessica Weghorst; and one great-grandchild, Tatum Weghorst.
