Mark Lansdown Obituary

Mark Scot Lansdown, 60, of West, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Houston. A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Mark was born Dec. 8, 1950, in Alva, Okla., the son of Irvan G. and Amy Grace (McCrary) Lansdown. He attended schools in Alva and graduated from Alva High School in 1969 prior to attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Mark was united in marriage to Yvonne Kubala April 26, 1975, in Alva. He was a building equipment mechanic for the United States Postal Service for almost 30 years before retiring in 2009. Prior to that, he worked with his father building and remodeling homes. Mark enjoyed working with his plants, barbecuing, and just being outdoors, and he especially loved watching college football with his father and sons.

Mark was preceded in death by his father; and a nephew, Brian Paris.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Yvonne Lansdown of West; three sons, Eric and Jeremy, both of Dallas, and Trevor and wife, Audra, of Bryan; his mother, Grace Lansdown of Alva, Okla.; his parents-in-law, Henry and Josie Kubala of West; a brother, Marvin Lansdown and wife, Dorothy, of Canon City, Colo.; a sister, Marsha Paris and husband, Greg, of Alva; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Kubala and wife, Margaret; five sisters-in-law, Janice Bernsen and husband, Ken, Sandra Kaplan, Joyce Reichardt and husband, Frank, Vicki Clanton and husband, Lynn, and Patti Click and husband, Mike; a grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund.

Yvonne & Family,

I am so sad by Mark's passing. He was a
wonderful man and so much help to me for
years.We worked together for years. I told him that he was my angel! May God
