Arnold Steffey

Arnold Steffey, 72, of Chilton, passed away at his residence Friday, Sept. 4, 2009. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive in Waco, with Pastor Sam Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Kervin, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home. Arnold was born May 28, 1937, in Coleman, Texas, to Leonard Steffey and wife, Annie Kelly. He attended schools in Coleman and then served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as a fire fighter. He retired from Southwest Gas Company and has since worked for the Texas Department of Corrections. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alyce Steffey; two brothers; and two sisters. Arnold is survived by his wife, Lauralee Steffey of Chilton; daughter, Brenda Avila; and son, Tony Steffey, both of Florida; three sisters; two brothers; and a large extended family.
